New teachers inducted by the TRCN at the Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo
Nine hundred and five new teachers have officially joined Nigeria’s teaching workforce after being inducted by the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) at the Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo.
The Director of Certification and Licensing at TRCN, Okunola Abibola Hammed, who represented the Registrar, Dr Ronke Soyombo, praised the college as one of the best teacher-training institutions in the country, describing it as a “national treasure” and a model for inclusive education.
Hammed commended the academic performance of the inductees, who all passed the council’s professional qualifying examinations, and urged them to pursue continuous professional development to meet the demands of modern classrooms.
The Oyo State Coordinator of TRCN, Mrs Ruth Adeoye, also lauded the college for its compliance with TRCN standards, encouraging it to integrate artificial intelligence into teaching and research to enhance innovation.
Provost of the College, Dr Ademola Rauf Salami, attributed the institution’s success to its dedicated staff and commitment to producing competent educators capable of serving both special and mainstream schools.
He said the college’s graduates continue to earn praise from employers nationwide for their professionalism and teaching excellence.
