Achievers Raises New Professors, Strengthens Academic Core

Achievers University has confirmed the promotion of two academics to the rank of Professor and six others to Reader, in a move that strengthens its senior faculty and underscores its commitment to academic excellence.

The approvals were made at the university’s 40th Governing Council meeting, reflecting a broader strategy to expand its research capacity and enhance the quality of instruction across faculties.

Professor David Opeyemi of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Professor Taye Temikotan of Biological Sciences now join the institution’s growing cadre of senior academics. Six Readers were also confirmed across disciplines, including law, business, nursing, and political science.

Among them are Dr M. J. Mohammed (Law), Dr D. A. Dada (Business Administration), and Dr O. O. Olorunfemi (Nursing Science)—scholars known for their research and contributions to their fields.

The university’s management and community celebrated the achievements, describing the promotions as crucial to nurturing innovation and mentoring the next generation of scholars.

As Achievers University continues to grow, the newly promoted academics are expected to lead research initiatives, expand international collaborations, and play key roles in shaping the future of academic programmes and institutional development.
