Adeshina Receives ECU Honorary Doctorate in Finance

Financial expert Dr Bade Adeshina, chairman of UK-based Ultra Goldfield Logistics Limited, has been conferred with an honorary Doctor of Management Science (D.MSc) by Edwin Clark University (ECU), Kiagbodo, Delta State.


The award, presented during ECU’s combined 4th-7th convocation, recognised Adeshina’s contributions to entrepreneurial finance, ethical leadership, and institutional development. In his acceptance speech, he urged young Nigerians to pursue excellence with integrity and praised universities for their role in national growth.


The ceremony also honoured High Chief Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo) with an honorary doctorate, while 463 graduates received degrees, including ECU’s first postgraduate class. Notably, 36 undergraduates earned first-class honours, with Ogio Anita Ominizibe achieving the highest CGPA of 4.91.


Vice-Chancellor Engr. Prof. Samuel Tita Wara encouraged graduates to be “ambassadors of light” promoting integrity, inclusion, and innovation. Chancellor Dr Collins Clark highlighted ECU’s rising national ranking, while the convocation lecture by David Daser, President of Digital Bridge Institute, emphasised Africa’s need for digital literacy and human capital development.


Adeshina, joined by his wife and associates, reaffirmed his commitment to community service, education, and national development, with friends and family praising his dedication, humility and impactful career.
