Oba (Dr.) Michael Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo CFR, Alake of Egbaland, celebrated his 20th anniversary of the coronation
The Vice-Chancellor of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI), Prof. Sunday Elom, has eulogised the university’s Chancellor, Oba (Dr.) Michael Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo CFR, Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, on the 20th anniversary of his coronation.
The celebration, held in Abeokuta, Ogun State, brought together politicians, traditional rulers, industrialists, academics, and public servants in a week-long display of Egba culture and tradition.
In a congratulatory message, Professor Elom praised the Chancellor’s exemplary leadership, discipline, integrity, and philanthropy, noting his contributions as a military officer, an administrator, and, now, a traditional ruler.
He highlighted the Chancellor’s enduring impact on the socio-economic and cultural development of Ogun State and Nigeria, emphasising his commitment to supporting the poor, the less privileged, and the marginalised.
The Vice-Chancellor described Oba Gbadebo as a custodian of culture whose influence and legacy grow stronger with time, and expressed prayers for continued health, wisdom, and vigour to sustain his philanthropic and developmental initiatives.
Elom was represented at the celebrations by a university team led by Prof. Otu Otu Akanu, Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences, alongside senior staff from AE-FUNAI.
