Army Holds Sensitisation Lecture for Sokoto Students

In a bid to strengthen civil-military relations, the Nigerian Army has organised a one-day sensitisation lecture for students in Sokoto State.

This is part of the activities lined up for the 2025 Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL), highlighting the military’s role in national development. The event, held at Idris Koko Technical College, aimed to educate students on the role of the military in national development, promote discipline, and expose them to career opportunities within the Nigerian Army.

Addressing the students, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, stated that the engagement would bridge the gap between the military and civilian populations, especially among the youth. General Oluyede, who was represented by the Commander, Equipment and Support, 8 Division, Brigadier General Aliyu Musa, stated that the sensitisation was designed to educate secondary school students about the Army’s contributions to national security and development.
