Prof. Mahfouz Adedimeji, Vice Chancellor of the African School of Economics (ASE), has urged Nigerian universities to collaborate in addressing national and global pressing issues. He made this call in his address titled “Ideas rule the world” at the university’s fourth public lecture in Abuja on Wednesday, July 2, 2025.
The lecture, “The 21st Century Nigerian University Pitfalls and Pathways,” led by Prof. Moses Ochonu of Vanderbilt University, United States, focused on promoting national reputation with educational instrumentation. Adedimeji, citing a study, identified 21st-century challenges as technological disruption and shifting economic powers. He further highlighted the absence of vision and foresight for the economy and migration as part of the problems.
