In a bid to grow Africa’s industrial sector, the African Technology and Innovation Institutes (ATII) will hold the first African Industrial Forum (AIF) on Thursday, July 10, 2025.
This will be the first time the event is taking place, and it is expected to bring together experts to talk about how technology can help boost industry across the continent. The virtual event will be led by Nigerian-born Professor Rose-Margaret Ekeng-Itua, who made history as the first Black woman in the world to bag a PhD in Cybernetics. The forum focuses on utilising smart technology to accelerate Africa’s industrial development. With the theme “Africa’s Future: Shaping Global Industries Through Smart Manufacturing, Automation, and Artificial Intelligence,” the summit will bring together policymakers, tech leaders, academics, and young people to drive Africa’s rise in global manufacturing.
The forum will focus on five key goals: promoting AI-led manufacturing, fostering partnerships across sectors, preparing young people for tech jobs, attracting investment into local industries, and closing the skills gap.
