Dr Boboye Oyeyemi, former Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has emerged as the new National President of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Nigeria.
The election, conducted entirely online, resulted in 301 valid ballots being cast out of 348 registered members. Oyeyemi secured 177 votes to defeat Anthony Onoharigho Akpoje, who polled 124. The results were confirmed by Rakiya Nuhu, Chairperson of the 2025 National Council Election Committee.
Juliana Saka was elected Deputy National President with 284 votes, while vice presidencies went to Sani Mathew (North), Dr Monday Ezechukwu (East), and Elisha Ebah (West).
Mode representatives were also returned, including Dr Ajao Oluseyi (Logistics and Supply Chain), Salim Bello (Maritime), Dr William Odemwingie (Pipeline), Abdulganiyu Tijani (Road), Dauda Olabayo (Railway), and Rosemary Audu (Aviation), who polled 273 votes. Queen Ajayi was elected Diversity and Inclusion Leader with 279 votes.
The newly elected officers will be sworn in at the Institute’s Annual General Meeting on October 23 2025, at the Civic Centre, Lagos.
Oyeyemi, who will serve a two-year term, unveiled a reform blueprint titled “CILT Nigeria Finetuned”, targeting 60% membership growth, a new Road Transport Sector Council, bridging courses for professionals, and state-level “Transport Champions.”
A seasoned public administrator, Oyeyemi is credited with reforms at the FRSC that earned the agency ISO 9001:2015 certification and global recognition from the World Bank. He succeeds Mfon Usoro and is expected to expand partnerships, enhance training, and reposition Nigeria’s transport and logistics sector.
