Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, in partnership with the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), has rolled out a sensitisation programme to onboard staff onto the Bureau’s newly introduced self-service asset declaration system.
The engagement, held at the Abdulkadir Kure Senate Building, convened academic and non-teaching staff for a structured briefing on the transition from manual submissions to a digital compliance model.
Opening the session on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Muhammad Hadi Sulaiman, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof Muhammad Aliyu Bello, positioned the initiative as a strategic enabler for operational efficiency.
He stressed that the reform aligns with the University’s governance commitments, noting that the digital platform will streamline processes, curb delays, and reinforce transparency standards expected in public institutions.
Representing the State Director of the CCB, Assistant Chief Superintendent Mr Gabriel O. Dairo outlined the operational rationale behind the upgrade. He emphasised that the platform is designed to simplify asset declaration, improve data accuracy, and elevate accountability across the public sector. He reiterated the statutory obligation of public officers to declare their assets and urged staff to approach the exercise with diligence and confidentiality.
The training closed with a hands-on walkthrough of the new portal. Participants were guided through form completion requirements and engaged in an interactive Q&A to clarify operational steps.
The University positioned the session as part of its ongoing alignment with national compliance reforms and reinforced its expectation of full staff adherence.
