Edwin Clark University (ECU) is set to graduate its first cohort of double-qualified nurses and midwives in 2025, achieving a 100% pass rate in this year’s Nursing and Midwifery Council examinations.
The milestone marks a rare achievement in Nigeria’s healthcare education, highlighting the success of ECU’s Nursing & Midwifery programme. The faculty attributes the result to a combination of rigorous academic training, dedicated faculty members, and strong support from the Nursing & Midwifery Council and the University’s governing bodies.
The Head of the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences praised the students for their resilience and commitment, noting that their performance sets a high standard for future cohorts.
The University stated that the success demonstrates ECU’s growing reputation as a centre of excellence in healthcare education and its capacity to produce highly skilled professionals ready to contribute to Nigeria’s healthcare sector.
Officials also emphasised that the achievement reflects the strategic focus on quality education, practical training, and adherence to professional standards in nursing and midwifery. The graduates are expected to bolster healthcare delivery across the country.
