Ekundayo Faith Oyindamola has launched her new book, “Knowing Your First Enemy as an Undergraduate”, at the FUOYE Innovation Hub, drawing academics, students, and parents to an event celebrating discipline, self-awareness, and personal responsibility.
Prof. O. S. Ayanda, delivering the keynote address, praised the book as “a timely guide that compels undergraduates to confront the silent enemies within, distraction, procrastination, fear and lack of identity.”
He emphasised that the first challenge for students is mastering themselves, noting that internal discipline makes all other academic hurdles manageable.
Book reviewer Dr Bamidele Aremu highlighted its practical self-reflection exercises, structured chapters, and relatable storytelling, calling it an essential resource for students seeking purpose and intentionality.
Dr Uchenna Anibueze, representing the Dean of the Faculty of Education, also commended its alignment with the faculty’s mission to shape disciplined, goal-driven learners.
Speakers highlighted themes such as self-discovery, resisting negative peer influence, cultivating positive habits, effective time management, and establishing personal direction.
Oyindamola dedicated the book to guiding undergraduates toward meaningful academic experiences, drawing inspiration from her own journey.
Meanwhile, Attendees described the launch as impactful and timely, marking the work as a valuable tool for student mentorship, orientation programmes, and youth development initiatives nationwide.
