FiberOne Broadband Limited, Nigeria’s leading fibre-to-the-home provider, has expanded its CSR footprint with the launch of the MindsMasterz Interschool Competition, an initiative designed to promote academic excellence and digital literacy among secondary school students.
The maiden edition, held at Civic Hive in Yaba, Lagos, featured eight schools competing in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Current Affairs. Wesley Girls Senior Secondary School emerged overall champion with 104 points, defeating Sanya Senior Grammar School (99 points) and Eletu Odibo Senior High School (third place). Winners shared ₦950,000 in cash prizes.
Speaking at the event, FiberOne’s Chief Customer Experience Officer, Adeyinka Isioye, said the programme underscores the company’s commitment to youth empowerment through education and technology. “Connectivity alone is not enough. MindsMasterz helps students see how digital literacy and academic excellence go hand in hand,” she said.
FiberOne also announced plans to offer one year of free internet to selected schools and expand the competition to 15 states next year.
