Oluremi Tinubu, Nigeria’s First Lady, has reaffirmed her commitment to promoting the education of girls and women in Nigeria. According to her, this step is an essential part of the country’s development. She revealed this while speaking at the 7th MERCK Foundation First Ladies Initiative Summit in Dubai, which she attended with 13 other first ladies.
She emphasised that improving girls’ education, particularly in healthcare, would have a lasting impact on Nigerian communities. Describing herself as a teacher, the first lady said her Renewed Hope Initiative continues to prioritise girl-child education and youth empowerment.
She also applauded the MERCK Foundation for supporting healthcare by providing scholarships for medical professionals in Africa and Asia.
