Alhaji Abdulmalik Usman, the Board Chairman, FRIN
The Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria (FRIN) has called for proper funding for research institutes in the country.
During an official visit to the FRIN Headquarters in Abuja, Alhaji Abdulmalik Usman, the Board Chairman, stated that with sufficient funding, research institutes will be able to execute their roles effectively, as they have competent employees.
Abdulmalik noted, “The visit has allowed me to know the challenges being faced by the institute and the need to proffer a solution.”
Highlighting the FRIN’s in-house efforts, Zacharia Buba Yaduma, the Director-General, appreciated the FRIN staff for their commitment to excellent research and sustainable forestry development.
In addition, he commended the institute for promoting environmental sustainability, conservation, and innovation in Nigeria, despite the existing funding challenges.
