The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia (FULAFIA), Prof Shehu Abdul Rahman, has called for stronger collaboration with the Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA) in research, student training and staff capacity building.
He made the call when the Nasarawa State chapter of the NVMA, led by its Chairman, Dr Mukhtar Sabuwa, paid him a courtesy visit at his office in Lafia.
Abdul Rahman commended the association’s efforts in promoting veterinary science and expressed readiness to partner in advancing the study and practice of veterinary medicine. He reassured that FULAFIA prioritises staff welfare and professional growth, noting that promotions were handled promptly to enhance productivity. In his remarks, Sabuwa lauded the vice-chancellor for establishing the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and for the university’s remarkable progress under his leadership. He described Abdul Rahman as a visionary leader committed to academic excellence.
