Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), has been honoured with a top award by the Civil Society Coalition for Transparency and Good Governance (CSCTGG).
The award, titled “Most Dedicated and People-Oriented Vice-Chancellor,” was presented to Professor Abdul Rahman in recognition of his open leadership style and efforts to empower students. This recognition shows his commitment to transparency and good governance at the university. CSCTGG Convener, Comrade Victor Udoh, stated that they had studied Abdul Rahman’s work for over four years and were impressed by his transparency and leadership. He praised the university’s student entrepreneurship schemes and mentorship programmes, which were introduced under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor.
Professor Abdul Rahman thanked the group and dedicated the award to the entire university community, emphasising the importance of teamwork in achieving success. He encouraged civil society groups to continue their good work to make Nigeria a better place. The visit included Comrade Success Uko, the Executive Director of CSCTGG.
