FUOYE matriculates 11,327 new students for the 2025/2026 academic session
The Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has officially welcomed 11,327 new students for the 2025/2026 academic session, with the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Abayomi Sunday Fasina, emphasising the importance of building a strong foundation for success.
Speaking at the matriculation ceremony on Thursday, Prof Fasina delivered his valedictory address, titled “Building a House on the Solid Rock: Foundations for a Successful Future”. He highlighted integrity, hard work, curiosity, resilience, and community as essential values for academic excellence and career preparedness.
Reflecting on his tenure, he said his achievements as VC were built on these same principles. “Excellence honours God. A house built on rock withstands storms, while one on sand crumbles,” he said, stressing that a solid foundation supports success beyond university.
Prof Fasina encouraged students to engage with professors, collaborate with peers, and pursue learning beyond textbooks, describing these habits as the building blocks for future leaders, entrepreneurs, and professionals.
He concluded by wishing the fresh students a transformative academic journey, confident that those who embrace these principles would thrive both at FUOYE and in their future careers.
