How does a bank change lives beyond money? Sterling Bank is doing just that—by opening the doors of education to hundreds of young Nigerians who may never have had the chance.
Through its bold new programme, “Beyond Education by Sterling,” the bank is offering ₦2 billion worth of scholarships to 600 Nigerians over a three-year period. The goal is simple: to support the dreams of young people and build a stronger future for Nigeria. In partnership with Miva Open University, an accredited online school founded by tech leader Sim Shagaya, Sterling is offering full university tuition for students between 16 and 35 years old. Unlike most universities, Miva does not require JAMB scores and offers flexible, affordable online learning.
To be eligible for the scholarship, a person must be nominated by someone who has a Sterling Bank account. The nominee does not need to be a customer. Nominations are made through the official website—sterling.ng/future—and the public will decide the winners through a voting process. The two top nominees from each state and the FCT will be awarded full scholarships.
However, Sterling’s support goes beyond the classroom. After graduation, these students will also be considered for jobs within the bank’s vast network. In a country where education is often out of reach, Sterling Bank is proving that big dreams can come true when someone believes in you enough to invest in your future.
