Ibadan College Enrols Students in Malaria Campaign

The Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology (FCAH&PT), Ibadan, has enrolled all its students in the Geneith Health Competition, a programme aimed at raising awareness and promoting advocacy against malaria.

Speaking at the launch on Wednesday, Acting Provost Dr Chidi Nweze Okpeze said the move was deliberate to empower young people to play active roles in national health priorities. He noted that the initiative would deepen students’ understanding of malaria and encourage them to contribute to community health.

The Geneith Health Competition, powered by Geneith Pharmaceuticals Limited in partnership with CEOAFRICA and Coatal Forte Softgel, is the first of its kind in Africa. Since its launch in Abuja on May 2, 2025, by Health Minister Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, it has received strong support from healthcare stakeholders nationwide.

Dr Okpeze described the programme as a significant step in mobilising students for Nigeria’s malaria elimination drive.
