HRM Agaba’idu Dr Elaigwu Odogbo Obagaji John bags Doctor of Theology Honoris Causa
Wesley University, Ondo State, has conferred the Honorary Doctor of Theology Honoris Causa on His Royal Majesty Agaba’idu Dr Elaigwu Odogbo Obagaji John, the Och’Idoma and paramount ruler of the Idoma Kingdom.
Rt. Rev. Prof. Samuel Sunday Obeka, the Vice-Chancellor, explained that the king was honoured in recognition of his character, devotion to God, and leadership.
Obeka described the monarch as “a rare model of spiritual depth, community transformation, and commitment to national peace.” Receiving the award, the king described it as a divine call to deeper service.
While appreciating the university, he expressed, “I receive this honour with profound humility and gratitude to Almighty God. I thank the Governing Council and Senate of Wesley University for deeming my modest contributions worthy of this distinguished recognition. For seventeen years, the university has stood as a beacon of hope and a builder of morally upright leaders.”
