Rep Sam Onuigbo, a member of the North East Development Commission (NEDC), has appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, for signing into law bills to establish three tertiary institutions in the South East.
Onuigbo expressed his happiness and concern, stating that by signing these bills into law, two leaders have extended access to quality tertiary education for young people in the region. Kalu funded two bills for the Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences and the Federal College of Education, Bende, Abia State. He lobbied for assent for the Federal University, Okigwe, Imo State.
In a statement signed and shared with journalists, Onuigbo said, “This legislative achievement comes as a clear demonstration of Kalu’s visionary leadership, deep commitment to educational development, and dedication to the socio-economic advancement of the South East and the nation at large. And for the President, I doff my hat for the expeditious assent to these timeless and transformative bills. In fact, by this act, Mr. President, you have once again demonstrated your administration’s commitment to inclusive development, nation-building, and the empowerment of our youth through education.”
Just this week, the Ohaenaeze of Indigbo Worldwide has taken to the media to commend President Bola Tinubu for signing these educational bills into law for the South East.
