Kano to Base Bilingual School Admission on Merit

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State

Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Governor of Kano State, has disclosed that admission of students and employment of staff at the new Bilingual School in Kiru will be strictly merit-based.

The governor emphasised that this will help improve the quality of teaching and learning. He added that his administration is partnering with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) to ensure this happens.

Yuduf reaffirmed his government’s commitment to employing qualified teachers and non-teaching staff at the school.

Speaking about the Bilingual School, Hajiya Aisha Garba, the UBEC Executive Secretary, expressed that it was financed by the Islamic Development Bank, the Federal Government, and the Kano State Government as part of their commitment to improve basic education infrastructure.
