Kebbi Orders Immediate School Closure

Mohammed Nasir Idris, Kebbi State Governor

The Kebbi State Government has directed all schools to close indefinitely to protect the students and staff from insecurity in the state.
This came after 25 school girls were kidnapped in the state last week.

The directive was passed in a statement issued by Issa Abubakar-Tunga, the state’s commissioner for Higher Education, and Halima Bande, the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education.

According to the statement, the management of affected institutions and schools should adhere to the closure and remain calm till a resumption date is given.

Some of the schools that closed include the Federal Government Girls College, Gwandu, the Federal Government College, Birnin Yauri, and the Federal Technical College, Zuru.
