Fine and Applied Arts students of LASUED recently unveiled ‘Resonance Beyond Time’ exhibition
Art has become a powerful medium of expression at Lagos State University of Education (LASUED), where Fine and Applied Arts students recently unveiled works that explored personal and collective identities under the theme “Resonance Beyond Time.”
The exhibition, held at the university’s main campus in Oto/Ijanikin, brought together a diverse collection of drawings, paintings, installations, textiles, and mixed media—all created by undergraduate artists eager to share their perspectives with the world.
Describing the experience as “truly unique,” Deputy Vice-Chancellor Prof. Moruf Daodu, standing in for the Vice-Chancellor, praised the students’ innovation and technical skill. “The quality of the projects on display is astonishing,” he said. “These works speak to the dedication and brilliance within our Arts Department.”
According to the Head of Department, Mr Dotun Oluwa, the exhibition reflects a bold step toward “making noise through visuals,” asserting that the students’ creativity extends beyond the gallery walls. He hinted at greater achievements ahead.
Dean of Students’ Affairs, Dr Dawodu Rasheed, encouraged the artists to embrace digital platforms to expand their audience. The event drew lecturers, students, and media representatives, all of whom lauded the exhibition for its depth and energy.
