Lead City University, Ibadan, celebrated its 18th convocation ceremony
Lead City University, Ibadan, celebrated a milestone at its 18th convocation ceremony, with 290 students graduating with first-class honours, highlighting two decades of academic growth and excellence.
A total of 3,379 graduands participated, including 2,162 first-degree recipients and 1,219 postgraduate awardees across various disciplines for the 2024/2025 session.
Olubadan of Ibadan, His Imperial Majesty Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, lauded the university for its “phenomenal development and growth,” commending management, staff, and students for positioning the institution as a leading private university.
The monarch was conferred with an honorary Doctor of Science in Public Administration (Honoris Causa), alongside former NLC President Comrade Hassan Adebayo Sunmonu.
Two other honorees, Mr Olalekan Bello and Mr Olakunle Williams, received Doctor of Business Administration (Honoris Causa) degrees in recognition of their leadership and professional achievements.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kabiru Adeyemo described the convocation as a celebration of resilience, discipline, and intellectual excellence, noting the event coincided with the university’s 20th anniversary. He revealed the institution had sponsored 143 staff members to conferences and training programmes to enhance teaching and administration.
Adeyemo added that Lead City University is seeking NUC approval to introduce new programmes, reaffirming its commitment to producing graduates equipped for meaningful national contribution.
