The Vice-Chancellor of Kwara State University (KWASU), Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, has been honoured with top titles by two student organisations on campus. The Man O’War, KWASU Cadet Unit, decorated him as their Grand Commander, while the Nigerian Red Cross Society, KWASU Detachment, named him their Grand Patron.
The event took place during the 2024/2025 Passing Out Parade for both groups on Saturday, June 26, 2025. Professor Jimoh thanked the students and praised the organisations for helping to build students’ discipline and character. He promised the university’s continued support for extracurricular activities. Also honoured were other top officials of the university. The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olubukola Dada, and the Registrar, Dr Kikelomo Sallee, were named Matrons, while the Bursar, Mallam Mohammed Abubakar, and Librarian, Professor Abdulsalam Salman, were made Patrons. Student leaders and guests praised the university for promoting such activities.
