Nigerian-born writer Emmanuel Ananaba, also known by his pen name Chyji Ananaba, has released a new novel titled The Flood of Love in the United States.
The book, which was released on May 19, 2025, explores the complex relationship between love and hatred, examining how personal biases shape human behaviour.
Ananaba hails from Obegu in Abia State, Nigeria. His educational journey took him from southern Nigeria to Equatorial Guinea and later to Owerre Nkwoji in Imo State.
After completing his secondary education at St. Augustine’s Grammar School, he attended Teacher’s Training College in Irete.
He subsequently moved to the United States, where he pursued higher education at Northwest Missouri State University.
His diverse career includes service in the United States Navy and working as a part-time driver for Lyft and Uber in Atlanta.
These experiences provided him with unique insights into various facets of society, which inspired the narrative of The Flood of Love.
The novel challenges readers to confront their perceptions of love, bias, and the consequences of drug use.
It presents bias as an inherent aspect of human nature rather than a criminal act, promoting themes of tolerance and acceptance.
The story also addresses the critical issue of drug abuse, illustrating how individuals can become trapped in a cycle of destruction.
