Senior High Chief (SHC) Alex Alegieuno Omiogbemi, Adolor of Uwanno Kingdom and President General of Emokhueme Community, has been honoured with the Philanthropy Impact Through Education Award at the 15th African Achievers Awards, held at the historic House of Lords in London.
The award recognises SHC Omiogbemi’s decades-long efforts to expand educational access, empower youth, and drive community development across Nigeria and Africa. Through the Alex Alegieuno Omiogbemi Foundation (AAOF), he established the first Omiogbemi Secondary School in Emokhueme. He launched the Emokhueme Education Trust Fund to ensure no child is denied education due to financial constraints.
“This award belongs to every child in Emokhueme who walks miles to seek knowledge, every teacher who turned a makeshift space into a classroom, and everyone who believed in this mission before it bore fruit,” SHC Omiogbemi said during his acceptance speech at the Palace of Westminster. The event drew prominent dignitaries, including Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, Rt Hon. Julius Ihonvbere, and Queen Olori Atuwase III of Warri Kingdom.
As Group Managing Director of Rainbow Network Global Synergy Ltd, SHC Omiogbemi also participated in a panel at the Ease of Doing Business in Africa Conference at the House of Commons, sharing insights on aligning local innovation with global opportunities. This year’s awards, themed Acceleration for Impact: Driving Change, Transforming Africa, celebrated leaders shaping the continent’s future through service and innovation.
