The National Union of Teachers (NUT) has raised an alarm on not being paid the ₦70,000 minimum wage signed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in at least nine states in the country. States such as Enugu, Gombe, Kaduna, Abia, Adamawa, Ebonyi, Nasarawa, Yobe, and Zamfara have partially implemented the new minimum wage.
Likewise, some of these states still pay the old N18,000 minimum wage, which was last reviewed over a decade ago. The NUT has now called on the Federal Government to intervene, compelling all 36 states and the FCT to ensure full inclusivity across all teaching cadres.
