The Senate of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, has approved the academic calendar for the 2024/2025 session, with activities scheduled to begin on October 11, 2025.
In a statement, the University’s Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Olarewaju, said the institution is prepared for another year of “excellence, innovation, and transformative learning.”
Fresh students in the Faculties of Administration, Arts, Environmental Design and Management, Education, Law, and Social Sciences are to move into residence on Saturday, October 11. Their counterparts in Agriculture, Basic Medical Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Computing, Engineering, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Science, and Technology will resume on October 12.
Online registration for new students opens on October 13, followed by an orientation programme from October 13 to 17 and ICT training from October 20 to 24. Returning undergraduates are expected back on campus on October 26, with lectures beginning on October 27. Normal course registration will close on October 31, while late registration with a penalty runs from November 24 to 28.
The information further revealed that the school’s matriculation ceremony is scheduled for December 3, while the Harmattan Semester will run from January to March 2026, featuring 13 weeks of lectures, revision, and examinations. The Rain Semester is scheduled to commence on March 30, 2026.
