The Chairman of the Ogun State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Apostle Abiodun Sanyaolu, has called on secondary school principals in the state to remain committed to professional ethics and academic excellence.
Sanyaolu gave this charge during a courtesy visit by the Ogun State Chapter of the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), led by its President, Mr. Adeniyi Adekoya, to the TESCOM office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Describing principals and teachers as key custodians of the school system, Sanyaolu noted that their dedication and integrity directly shape the future of students. He emphasised that under his leadership, the commission has developed several plans to improve the teaching and learning environment across the state. “I encourage all teaching and non-teaching staff in our secondary schools to continue upholding the ethics of their professions and to be diligent in their duties,” he said.
The TESCOM boss also urged ANCOPSS to strengthen its collaboration with Old Students’ Associations to support the development of education in the state. In her remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Commission, Mrs. Melutia Ogunremi, praised ANCOPSS for being a reliable partner and reassured the body that TESCOM is committed to ensuring teachers are well-recognised and supported within the civil service. ANCOPSS President, Mr. Adekoya, applauded Sanyaolu’s innovative leadership and pledged the group’s continued support. He also appealed for improved infrastructure, renovation of dilapidated school buildings, and enhanced school security to create a more conducive learning environment.
Also present at the meeting were Commissioner I, Hon. Adeola Akintande; Commissioner III, Hon. Majekodunmi Olanrewaju; Commissioner IV, Hon. Ademola Adeleye; and Director of Administration and Supplies, Mr. Akintomiwa Osibodu.
