Cyril Zango Mathew, Edo State Sector Commander of the FRSC
A student of the Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, Edo State, has lost his life in an auto crash at Ujoelen Junction along the Ekpoma–Auchi Expressway after their sign-out celebration.
Eyewitness accounts revealed that the deceased and others drove carelessly and flouted road safety rules, explaining that the incident occurred while the deceased tried to overtake a moving truck but collided with a car parked along the road.
According to Cyril Mathew, the Edo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), after confirming the incident, said one person died, while five sustained injuries.
He explained, “The students, after writing their last paper, entered the road in a convoy. In the process, one of them overtook another vehicle and rammed into a stationary truck.”
