The Partnership for Learning for All in Nigeria (PLANE) has trained 504 teachers in Kaduna State on a digital platform designed to improve teaching and learning outcomes.
The initiative, known as the Digital Community of Practice, enables teachers to share ideas, strengthen their classroom practices, and access professional development through platforms like WhatsApp.
Speaking at the certificate ceremony for the first cohort on Friday, PLANE State Team Lead Mrs Diana Agabi said the training focused on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN). She explained that the programme allows teachers to earn credit units under the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) scheme.
Agabi noted that the project, piloted in four local government areas, also introduces teachers to global best practices in digital learning, emphasising that Nigerian educators must adopt online platforms to enhance capacity and improve results in schools.
