Precious Cornerstone University seeks academic and medical partnership with UCH, Ibadan
Precious Cornerstone University (PCU), Ibadan, has visited the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan to explore potential collaboration in medical training, research, and institutional development.
The visit, led by PCU Vice-Chancellor Professor Timothy Adejumo on Wednesday, November 55 2025, aimed to establish a partnership to enhance academic programmes, practical training, and research opportunities for students and staff.
Professor Adejumo stated that the collaboration would enhance PCU’s profile in the health sciences and provide students with hands-on experience in clinical and laboratory settings. He added that the University was keen to benefit from UCH’s expertise as one of Nigeria’s leading teaching hospitals.
UCH Chief Medical Director Professor Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo welcomed the visit, noting that structured partnerships with universities help bridge the gap between theory and practice. He emphasised that all collaborations would follow institutional and national guidelines to ensure ethical and professional compliance.
Both institutions agreed to form a joint committee to develop programmes including student internships, staff exchanges, joint research, and capacity-building workshops.
The visit marks the beginning of discussions aimed at deepening academic and research ties, with officials expressing optimism that tangible outcomes will follow.
