PRODA Board Pledges Support for Nigeria’s Tech Innovation Drive

The Governing Board of the Projects Development Institute (PRODA), Enugu, has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing Nigeria’s technological development in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Chairman of the Board, Hon. Donatus Agu, gave the assurance during a familiarisation visit to the institute’s headquarters in Enugu. He said the Board was determined to strengthen collaboration with management and staff to ensure PRODA fulfils its national mandate.

Agu praised the institute’s research outputs, describing them as innovative and relevant to Nigeria’s industrial needs. He also stressed the importance of partnerships between PRODA and the private sector to drive local manufacturing and industrial growth.

He commended the Director-General of PRODA, Dr Peter Ogbobe, for his leadership and vision in repositioning the institute as a hub for applied research and innovation.

In his remarks, Dr Ogbobe said PRODA had advanced its research focus on agro-processing machinery, moving from semi-mechanised to automated production systems to boost Nigeria’s agro-industrial value chain.

He said the institute had also invested in staff training, digital tools, and fibre-optic infrastructure to improve research efficiency and innovation capacity.
