Prof Amina Salihi Bayero, the substantive VC of Northwest University, Kano
MAAUN Group of Universities has congratulated Professor Amina Salihi Bayero on her appointment as the substantive Vice-Chancellor of Northwest University, Kano.
The appointment, approved by Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, followed a recommendation from the University Governing Council after a rigorous selection process.
In a statement released on Thursday, MAAUN Founder Professor Gwarzo, who also serves as President of the Association of African Private Universities (AAPU), described the appointment as “well-deserved,” citing Prof. Salihi Bayero’s academic credentials and extensive experience.
“As a distinguished scholar in Analytical Chemistry and the first female PhD holder in Chemistry from Bayero University, I am confident she will excel in her new role,” Prof. Gwarzo said.
He highlighted her prior service in various academic and administrative capacities, expressing confidence that she would drive transformation and development at Northwest University. He also commended the Governing Council for recognising her achievements and the Governor, Yusuf, for approving the appointment.
The MAAUN Founder prayed for guidance and wisdom for Prof. Salihi Bayero, wishing her success in leading the university to new heights in academic excellence and institutional growth.
