SOS Children’s Villages Nigeria Renovates Classrooms, Donates Solar Water Facility To Community Basic School, Sasa, Oyo
SOS Children’s Villages Nigeria has commissioned renovated classrooms, solar-powered water facilities, toilets, and new furniture at the Community Basic School in Sasa, Akinyele Local Government Area, Oyo State. The initiative aims to provide children with a safe, clean, and supportive learning environment.
Eghosa Erhumwunse, Managing Director of SOS Children’s Villages Nigeria, highlighted the organisation’s commitment to quality education and child welfare, emphasising the project’s community-driven nature. The intervention follows previous SOS initiatives in Oyo State and seeks to address challenges in sanitation, access to clean water, and learning infrastructure.
The project was commended by the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board and school authorities, who urged students and teachers to maintain the facilities. Community leaders and stakeholders attended the handover ceremony.
