The management of Tai Soalrin Federal University of Education, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, has dismissed claims that the university was closed due to a bandit attack.
Mr Dapo Oke, the university’s registrar, dismissed the reports in a statement released on Saturday, November 21, 2025.
The registrar described the report as false news circulating to create panic in the university community and the state. “TAFSUED management wishes to alert all stakeholders—students, staff, parents, alumni, and the general public—that this story is false, misleading, and intended to cause unnecessary panic.”
He stated that the closure rumour emanated from the bandits’ invasion of Ijebu Ode. In addition, he clarified that the management never made a directive to close the school, assuring its safety.
