President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the construction of 600-bed hostels at the Nigerian Law School in Abuja and a new road linking the Body of Benchers Secretariat in Jabi District to Nile University.
The directive was conveyed through the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and announced in a statement on Tuesday by his aide, Lere Olayinka.
Officials said the projects, to be undertaken on an emergency basis, will provide a 300-bed hostel for female students and another 300-bed facility for male students. The move is expected to ease accommodation shortages faced by law students in the capital.
The planned road, according to the statement, will reduce congestion near the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and improve access to both the Body of Benchers Secretariat and Nile University.
