A coalition of northern polytechnic students has lauded President Bola Tinubu for extending the tenure of the Nigeria Customs Service Comptroller-General, Adewale Adeniyi.
In a statement, the students commended the president for recognising Adeniyi’s reform-driven leadership, citing increased revenue generation and a crackdown on smuggling. According to the group, Adeniyi’s extension reflects Tinubu’s commitment to meritocracy and institutional stability. They further urged the customs boss to continue fostering transparency, professionalism, and innovation across border operations. The statement described Adeniyi as an “unassuming technocrat whose performance has restored public confidence in the Service.” The presidency had announced the one-year extension following a review of Adeniyi’s performance since assuming office in 2023.
