Mr. Owoeye Adedeji, chairman of UNILAG Alumni Association, Lagos Branch
The University of Lagos (UNILAG) Alumni Association, Lagos Branch, has declared its intention to close the institution’s infrastructure gap.
Mr Owoeye Adedeji, the chairman of the alumni association branch, said during a news conference that the association is set to promote the relationship between town and gown and make the university more conducive to learning.
He said, “The idea of connecting the gown with the town means identifying the basic needs that shape students’ daily learning experience.”
The chairman mentioned that the association is planning a ‘Dinner and Awards Night with Corporate World’ as an avenue to strengthen the relationship.
He said that the dinner and awards night will serve to strengthen the association’s commitment to improving the quality of education.
Adedeji emphasised that education funding cannot be handled solely by the government. In addition, he advised the association, members of the public, and corporate bodies to support the collaboration plan for a more sustainable future.
