UNILORIN Chaplain Urges Students to Shine Bright

The Chaplain of the Chapel of the Light at the University of Ilorin, Rev. E.S. Alasan, has advised graduating students to remain close to God and let their lives reflect Christ as they leave school. He delivered this message on July 12, 2025, during a special event called the “Feast of Lights Dinner” held in honour of final-year students.

The dinner was put together by the Chapel and the UNILORIN Christian Union to celebrate and spiritually uplift the students. Tiamiyu Anthony Taofik, a businessman, also spoke at the event. He charged the student and reminded them that real success does not come from the amount of money one has, but from living a life of honesty, service, and godliness, not just for the sake of money or fame. The event’s coordinator, Mr. Eseyin Joseph, said the name “Feast of Lights” was chosen to show that students are meant to shine in society. The night featured awards, music, spoken word, and touching student stories about their spiritual journey.
