The West African Management Development Institutes Network (WAMDEVIN) has appointed Olaolu Adewumi as its new Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer.
Adewumi was appointed to succeed Dr S.K. Olowe, who served until September 2024, after an excellence-based and thorough process. The process included an oral interview, an essay, a case study assessment, a strategic plan presentation, and an ICT proficiency test. It was governed by an international panel of senior directors from member institutions in Nigeria, The Gambia, and Senegal.
The new executive secretary, who has been with the organisation since 1994, was once its Deputy Director of Studies. He holds several academic qualifications, including a Bachelor’s Degree in Government and Public Administration, a Master’s Degree in Public Administration, and a PhD (in view).
Adewumi is currently a member of the Institute of Management Consultants of Nigeria (IMCON), the Chartered Institute of Certified Secretaries and Reporters, and the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered).
