Why I Chose DELSU for Medicine – UTME Star

A 21-year-old student, Fregene Emiko Emmanuel, who scored 323 in the 2025 UTME, has revealed why he wants to study Medicine and Surgery at Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka. Emmanuel said he picked DELSU because the school is close to home and has a good reputation for training medical doctors. “I want to save lives and give hope to the sick. That is why I want to become a doctor,” he said in a phone interview. He also shared that he had worked as a trainee nurse to keep his dream alive. Emmanuel, who hails from Warri South Local Government Area and is a former student of Erejuwa II Grammar School, Ode-Itsekiri, completed his SSCE in 2024 with strong results, including an A1 in Mathematics and an A1 in Agricultural Science. He is confident about passing the DELSU post-UTME and beginning his journey to becoming a doctor
