To boost the education sector, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, announced that no less than N140 billion has been allocated to education in the 2025 FCT budget.
This was revealed during a Friday tour of ongoing infrastructure projects in Abuja as part of preparations for the inauguration of projects marking President Bola Tinubu’s second year in office.
Wike, who expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his unwavering support, emphasised that his administration is committed to completing ongoing projects across the FCT, particularly in education and healthcare.
He clarified that the focus is not just on road infrastructure, as many might believe, but on fulfilling existing projects in various sectors, including the renovation of schools.
The Minister assured residents that all abandoned projects would be completed to benefit the people, reinforcing that the government’s priority is to ensure continuity and the effective use of public funds.
Wike further revealed that a significant portion of the 2025 budget would be directed towards completing ongoing education projects rather than initiating new ones to meet the public’s expectations.
With this substantial investment in education, Wike’s administration aims to improve the quality of education in the nation’s capital, providing a better future for the residents.
