Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS) delegation, led by Registrar/CEO Ayo Adeonipekun, visits YABATECH
Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) students have received a significant boost as the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS) unveiled funding, training and career opportunities to groom young professionals for Nigeria’s financial markets.
The CIS delegation, led by Registrar/CEO Ayo Adeonipekun, addressed senior management and students, highlighting globally recognised certification routes, including the CIS Professional Examination and the Certified Securities and Investment Support Specialist (CSISS) programme. The syllabus now incorporates emerging areas such as digital assets, cryptocurrency, and blockchain investments.
Adeonipekun announced plans to provide financial support for students constrained by funding, including an endowment-based scheme and personal sponsorship for at least three YABATECH students annually. Industry partners were also cited as backing examination fees for qualified candidates.
Rector Dr. Engr. Ibraheem Abdul commended CIS’s initiatives and expressed readiness to expand collaboration in curriculum development, co-teaching, and industry immersion programmes. He further proposed institutional loan and grant schemes to support students pursuing professional certifications.
The CIS team assured continued engagement through scholarships, mentorship, staff development sessions, and industry placements for outstanding students, reinforcing the Institute’s commitment to bridging education with career opportunities.
