The Abia State Government has finished its electricity supply project in the Abia State University Campus, Uturu.
Prince Okey Kanu, Commissioner for Information, disclosed in a statement on Tuesday, Jun. 17, 2025, that the first phase of power supply to the campus is a huge achievement. He also described it as improving the learning and living conditions of the students.
Additionally, he stated that the second phase of the power supply will commence once formal approval is obtained. He noted that the power project is a subset of Governor Otti’s bigger agenda to reposition educational Infrastructure in 2025. Kanu further revealed that the hostel renovation within the university is ongoing, and the plumbing installations are complete. He confirmed that the renovated hostel facility would soon be officially transferred to the university management.
