A non-governmental organisation, Armslent Foundation, has donated educational materials worth millions of naira to pupils of Nyemoni State School in Abonnema, Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The donation, which included textbooks, school bags, sandals, and mathematical sets, aims to improve pupils’ academic performance and create a better learning environment.
Speaking at the event, the Foundation’s founder, Richard Boma Briggs, said the gesture was part of its commitment to promoting education and children’s welfare. He added that the initiative would become an annual exercise.
Briggs said, “Armslent Foundation is here to check on the welfare of students and teachers of this school. Come 2026, we will make it bigger and better for the pupils.”
The Foundation’s Managing Director, Richard Osigbo, said the support was inspired by the economic challenges facing many families. “We are calling on more partners to join us so we can reach more schools and make a greater impact,” he said.
The Head Teacher, Boma Sampson, commended the Foundation for the gesture and appealed to the state and local governments to repair the school’s leaking roof and provide a generator to ease learning conditions.
