The Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB) has appreciated Governor Soludo’s administration for its transformation in the education sector.
Dr. Vera Nwadinobi, ASUBEB Chairman, revealed that the administration has made education accessible in Anambra. She also restated ASUBEB’s commitment to ensuring Governor Soludo’s vision for the sector.
During ASUBEB’s monitoring trip to the riverine and communities that are difficult to reach in the state on Friday, June 20, 2025, Hon. Mrs. Ify Anatune, ASUBEB Board Member 1 and Otuocha Zone Coordinator, stated that the trip is an effort to address teacher shortages and the issue of students being out of school.
She mentioned that these issues affect Awka North, Anambra East, Anambra West, and Ogbaru, but the Soludo administration has employed some teachers to work in those areas. In addition, she said that since the governor declared free education, school enrolment has increased. ASUBEB has also provided boats to transport pupils and teachers to and from school free of charge from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Plans are ongoing to increase the fleet to 24 boats.
