Mr. Miah Mainul Kabir,_High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Nigeria, during his visit to MAAUN Kano
The High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Nigeria, Mr Miah Mainul Kabir, has praised Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) for its academic excellence and urged the establishment of a campus in Bangladesh to enhance the university’s global reach.
During his visit to MAAUN Kano, Mr Kabir delivered a lecture titled “Harnessing the Capacity of Youth in Economic and Social Advancement,” emphasising the critical role of young people in driving social and economic transformation. He also toured key facilities, including the MAAUN Innovation Hub within the School of Computing.
The High Commissioner highlighted the university’s dynamic learning environment, visionary leadership, and commitment to student development, noting that MAAUN students are well-positioned to contribute to global innovation and progress.
MAAUN President, Prof. Mohammad Israr, said the lecture underscores the university’s dedication to global partnerships and youth empowerment. At the same time, Vice President of Administration, Dr Habib Awaisu Abubakar, praised collaborative initiatives between MAAUN and the Bangladesh High Commission.
The Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Ibrahim Maigari, lauded the envoy for selecting MAAUN as the host for the event, noting its impact on fostering international cooperation and academic excellence.
